Yellow powder. Insoluble in water, soluble in alkaline solution, slightly soluble in acid. Used for making high melting point alloys and hard alloys, tungsten wires, and fire-resistant materials. It can be obtained by melting tungsten ore with soda ash and adding acid. Purity 99.95%
